Platform features

PhantomRank has three live modules: one for brand‑level AI visibility, one for category‑level benchmarking, and one for understanding where AI gets its information.

How we think about AI visibility

  • AI answers are not deterministic. A single prompt run is a sample, not a stable ranking.
  • API responses can differ from what users see in ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity.
  • Today’s AI visibility tools can only model behaviour from repeated sampling; there is no official, first‑party metric yet.

PhantomRank is designed around those constraints. We track the same prompt sets over time across multiple engines and keep full answer and citation histories so you can see patterns, not just one‑off screenshots or a single score.

How AI builds an answer about your brand

See why AI picks one brand over another

When someone asks AI for a solution, it reads multiple pages and only a few brands make it into the answer. The AI Visibility Tracker shows which sites were read, which ones were recommended, and where your own pages dropped out.

How we measure AI visibility

  • We track the same set of buyer‑style questions over time instead of chasing single screenshots.
  • We log the full answer text, the brands mentioned, and the domains cited for each run.
  • We compare your results to named competitors on the same prompts and time windows.

See your position in the AI view of your market

Industry Metrics turns AI answers into a simple view of which brands are treated as leaders, which are growing, and which rarely show up.

AI Share of Voice (SoV)

Share of all mentions across your tracked AI questions.

Share of Synthesis (SoS)

Share of answers where your domain is cited as a source.

Answer Placement (APS)

How often AI places you at or near the top of its recommendations.

Sentiment Alignment (SAI)

Whether AI tends to describe you positively, neutrally, or as a risk.

Where AI goes to form its opinions

See which sites AI actually learns your market from

GSO is a search engine for AI’s own sources. Instead of showing you what you can click, it shows you which domains AI keeps pulling from when it answers questions in your vertical.

We look at the same AI answers your buyers see, extract every citation, and group those sources into types like regulators, media, review platforms, communities, and company sites. This gives you a clear map of which places matter most if you want AI to trust and recommend you.

Source Domain Share

How much of AI’s citations come from each type of source (gov, media, reviews, communities, company sites).

Top Source Domains

The specific sites that appear again and again as sources in your vertical.

If you see that 40% of AI answers in your category are built on Reddit threads and G2 pages, and your brand is missing there, that’s the first gap to close.
